There was a report that North Korean missiles had come even closer to the United States, but it looks like the missiles are headed in a direction different from the United States!
I find myself imagining a story like this.
There’s a company that wants to station military forces in Japan so it can sell weapons and make a profit.
All the bigwigs in Japan and the United States are shareholders in, or sales agents for, that weapons company.
So they say, “Let’s make North Korea the villain together and pretend it’s firing missiles all over the place. Then we can create a situation where we have to station troops, sell loads of weapons, and make a fortune!”
*For example, what if a U.S. warship staged a plausible-looking explosion off the coast of Hokkaido, and they paid the mass media to broadcast it that way?
If some contradictions come up, just blame Prime Minister Abe for something, or put out a celebrity scandal to distract everyone. That’ll shift people’s attention over there!
*In that sense, Abe is a celebrity too. A popular one!
It’s fine! Japanese people aren’t very interested in politics anyway,
they trust newspapers and television!
They’re very serious! They’re willing to die for their country!
Just kidding (laughs).
There may be plenty of things to pick apart, but that’s not the point. Just think, “There he goes imagining something silly again (laughs),” and move on.
When I was traveling in northern China, I once asked a local guide, “What’s North Korea like?”
They said it felt like a laid-back country, where people normally crossed the border and traveled, and they didn’t think it was a country that would start a war or anything like that.
“Japanese people say strange things,” they told me.
That’s what made me imagine the story above.
A friend who traveled to Iraq (apparently they’ll never be allowed back into the United States again (laughs)) told me the people there were all laid-back and very kind. They often helped when someone was in trouble, and it was an incredibly good trip.
Maybe it’s because they don’t have a capitalist mindset, aren’t fixated on money, don’t rush around, and their teachings regard kindness and generosity toward others as virtues.
During the Great East Japan Earthquake, there was talk about looting gangs, supplies being available everywhere, radiation, and all sorts of other things.
But when I went there myself, what people said was completely different!
In other words, I believe what matters is not to swallow every piece of information whole, but to make judgments based on your own experiences.
My view on North Korean missiles is:
There’s no point worrying about what you can’t change.
Anyway, let’s ENJOY today, too!!
Today I’m going to use this brief spell of good weather to build a terrace around my house as a DIY project.
I want to build about three of them, so even cutting the materials alone will take about two days.
