このパターンがヨーロッパで起きて、登山自粛ムードが世界的に拡がったのだが、日本でも起きてしまった。
残念というか悲しいというか。をい日本！！って感じ。

A mountain accident amid the COVID-19 situation.
This kind of incident happened in Europe, where it led to a worldwide mood of avoiding mountain climbing. Now it has happened in Japan too.
It is sad, and disappointing. I can only say, “Come on, Japan!!”

「人はいずれ死ぬ、遅いか早いかだけだ」—コロナ禍に思う

一連のコロナ騒動を見ていると、もののけ姫のジコ坊のセリフが頭に浮かんでくる。
「人はいずれ死ぬ、遅いか早いかだけだ。」
「肝心なのは、死にくわれんことだ。」
死と恐怖をもたらすコロナウィルスについて、正しく知った上で今どうするか。知らずにいたずらに恐れたり、軽率な行動をしないようにしたいな。

As I watch the series of events surrounding COVID, a line by Jigo-bo from Princess Mononoke comes to mind:
“Everyone dies eventually; it’s only a matter of sooner or later.”
“What matters is not being consumed by death.”
We should learn the facts about the coronavirus, which brings death and fear, and decide what to do now. I hope we can avoid being needlessly afraid through ignorance or acting carelessly.
