わたくしの冬のお仕事、HAPPY☆TUNEの工房の改装もようやく終盤に近づいてまいりました。
大工さんと一緒に、あるもんでなんとかしましたが、とてもいい感じになって良かったです。
商品も陳列して、おきゃくさんを「おもてなし」するぞ〜
My winter job, HAPPY☆TUNE: the renovation of the workshop is finally nearing completion.
We made things work with what we had, together with the carpenter, and I’m glad it has turned out so nicely.
We’re putting the products on display, ready to welcome our customers!

Kamiichi Local Products Project
We are considering using a private home in the Tane district as our production site.
This winter will be for preparations.
We plan to begin production next spring.
It looks like things are going to get busy...

奇しくも１１月２３日
白馬のCAFE「せんじゅ」の伊藤さんの呼びかけで
雪山安全祈願に芦峅寺雄山神社へ行って来ました。
どんなご縁か僕が玉串を奉納させて頂くことになりました。
・山で謙虚な行動を心がけます。
・いつも山で遊ばせてもらってありがとうございます。
という気持ちを込めさせてもらいました。
一枚３５０円にて頒布しております。
自然は誰に対しても公平に「厳しい」です。
傲慢な気持ちや感謝を欠いた行動は、おもしろいように
しっぺ返ししてくれます。
かくいう僕も、若い頃は「自己責任」の名のもとにやりたい放題でした（苦笑）
そして、山にやられまくって（先輩方にも（笑））
ようやくなんとか普通の奴になれたのか？わからないけど（笑）
いろいろやらかした者として、これ以上山での事故がないように
呼びかけたり、失敗談をお話したりしたいなと思いますです。
As it happened, on November 23, at the invitation of Ito from Hakuba’s Café Senju, I went to Oyama Shrine in Ashikuraji to pray for safety in the snowy mountains. Somehow, I was asked to make a tamagushi offering.
I offered these thoughts:
• I will try to act humbly in the mountains.
• Thank you for always letting us enjoy the mountains.
The talismans are being offered for 350 yen each.
Nature is “harsh” to everyone equally. Arrogance and actions without gratitude can bring a surprisingly sharp response from the mountains.
I, too, did whatever I wanted when I was young, under the banner of “personal responsibility” (sigh). The mountains—and my senior companions—gave me plenty of hard lessons (laughs). I don’t know if I’ve finally become a fairly normal person (laughs).
Having made plenty of mistakes myself, I’d like to speak up to help prevent further mountain accidents and share some of my own failures.

願いむなしく。
立山雪崩事故７名死亡だそうです。
My hopes were in vain. It seems that seven people died in the Tateyama avalanche accident.
今週末の立山 天気いいですが、吹きだまり、沢、急斜面などなど
皆様お気をつけくださいっ！！
雪崩の危険性が高いです。
ビーコン、プローブ、ショベル
装備も大事ですが
雪崩に遭わないために最も重要で簡単な方法は
危険箇所に行かない事
だと思います。
知識と技術を持って謙虚な行動を願います。
万が一雪崩にあっても装備あるから大丈夫。
なわけないですよ。
雪崩にあって万が一生存してた場合に、装備が役に立つ。
あなたの冷たい身体を探すのに、探しやすい道具。
とお考え下さい。

巻き込まれたスキーヤーは無事でした。
でも、しばらく恐怖で動けなかったようです。
The weather looks good for this weekend in Tateyama, but please be careful around wind-loaded snow, gullies, steep slopes, and similar terrain. Avalanche danger is high!
Beacons, probes, and shovels are important equipment, but I think the most important and simplest way to avoid an avalanche is to stay out of hazardous areas.
Please act humbly, with knowledge and skill.
“If I get caught in an avalanche, I’ll be fine because I have the gear.” That’s not true. If you are caught in an avalanche and happen to survive, that is when your equipment can help. Think of it as tools that make it easier for others to find your cold body.
The photo shows an avalanche in Happo’s unnamed gully. The skier caught in it was safe, but reportedly couldn’t move for a while because of the fear.

ちょうど２年前の自宅を建てる作業の写真です。
裏に生えてた杉を伐採したとき、何かに活かせないかなと考えて、近所の製材所で製材してもらい、板にしてウロコ状に外壁を貼りました。
敢えて派手に。
里山の田舎が明るく、楽しい感じになったらいいなと思って作りました。
紅葉をイメージしたんですが、ラスタカラーですね（笑）
富山の杉
いろいろと活用してあげたい！と思います。
雪の影響で成長が遅く、枝が多くてフシが多く材として扱いにくいと言われる富山杉ですが
雪のおかげで力強く、またフシはなんともいえないかわいさです。
今は杉ウッドデッキを作成しようと企んでいます。
製材は終わったので、春になったら組んで行こうと思います。
＊当時は家作りの様子をブログなどで発信していたのですが「羨ましい」というご意見を頂いて、発信を止めました。
facebookの発信は見てくれる方が「楽しい」気持ちになってほしくてやってるのに、「羨ましい」気持ちになっちゃうのは嫌だなぁと思ったのと、僕ん中で「自慢」ていう気持ちが混ざってるのかどうか自信がなかったからです。
２年経って、過去の事としてどうでも良くなった今、ちょっとづつ発信していこうと思います。

These are photos from the work of building our home, exactly two years ago.
When we cut down the cedar trees growing behind the house, I wondered if we could put them to use. We had them milled at a nearby sawmill into boards, then attached them to the exterior in overlapping, fish-scale rows.
I deliberately went bold.
I made it hoping the countryside in the satoyama would feel brighter and more cheerful.
I had autumn leaves in mind, but it turned out to look like Rastafarian colors (laughs).
Toyama cedar — I want to make use of it in all sorts of ways!
Toyama cedar is said to grow slowly because of the snow, with many branches and knots that can make it difficult to use as lumber.
But the snow gives it strength, and its knots have a charm that is hard to describe.
Now I’m plotting to build a cedar wood deck.
The lumber has been milled, so I plan to put it together when spring comes.
＊Back then, I used to share updates about building our home on my blog and elsewhere, but I stopped after receiving comments that people felt “envious.”
I share things on Facebook hoping people who see them will feel happy, so I didn’t like the idea of making them feel “envious.” I also wasn’t sure whether some part of me was mixing in a feeling of “showing off.”
Now that two years have passed and it feels like the past, I’d like to start sharing little by little again.
